Preferred Experience

Experience in propulsion / powertrain systems

Strong understanding of:

  • Electric propulsion
  • Energy systems
  • Thermal management

Experience with battery technologies (Li-Po, Li-Ion) and BMS integration

Exposure to EMI/EMC mitigation and aerospace environmental standards (DO-160, MIL-STD)

Hands-on experience with UAV or aerospace propulsion systems

Required Skill Sets & Tools

Simulation: MATLAB / Simulink

Tools: LabVIEW

Sizing: eCalc / MotoCalc

CAD Coordination: Siemens NX, SolidWorks

Qualifications
Bachelor’s / Master’s in Mechanical / Electrical / Aerospace Engineering
Key Responsibility Areas
  • Component Selection & Characterization
    • Perform motor and ESC selection and characterization
    • Select and configure battery packs (Li-Po, Li-Ion)
    • Conduct dynamometer and thrust testing
  • Power & Energy Management
    • Develop power consumption profiles across take-off, cruise, and hover
    • Optimize energy usage and efficiency for extended endurance
  • Battery & BMS Integration
    • Integrate Battery Management Systems (BMS)
    • Ensure cell balancing, safety monitoring, and thermal protection
  • Electrical Integration
    • Design high-current wiring and connector specifications
    • Ensure robust power distribution systems
  • Thermal & EMI/EMC Management
    • Implement active and passive cooling strategies
    • Mitigate EMI/EMC issues from ESCs and high-current systems
  • ICE Systems
    • Perform engine tuning and EFI calibration for ICE-based propulsion systems
    • Support hybrid propulsion integration where applicable
